POTD - Aug 23 - Miss Independent!
On our way to "school" this morning, K asked me to stay in the car and let her walk into school by herself. School is a private daycare ran out of a home, so I agreed that she could walk in by herself, but that I would be watching and waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs. After my initial sadness that she is already growing up too fast, I remembered I had my camera and decided to capture the moment. She walked up the steps and then turned around and waved at me and then continued towards the door. (Was she making sure I was not following???) She turned and looked at me one final time and then disappeared behind the teacher waiting inside the door...

I am going to cry! My DD just turned 9 today. They grow up too fast!
it's so hard to let them go.... =(
they do grow up fast. glad you had your camera with you to capture this!
I don't think pictures have to be "technically perfect" to be wonderful! Thank you for sharing these - I enjoyed them and the story that goes with them!
I really like your idea of posting what you are focusing on, technically wise, on your blog. Your say "composition and focus". Composition - #1 is good, love the fact that she is climbing the stairs to something new. With #2 I would have zoomed in closer to focus on her expression on the big day. Kids don't give us much time so this is a challenge for sure!
